NYC Music
10/08/06 - people watching, music

I'm working through my backlog. These are from back in May when Kevin and I were in New York City we went to two concerts. First, on May 1st, my birhtday we saw Jonathan Coulton do his First of May concert. It was wonderful, if you don't know him and you like fun, witty music you have to check him out. We also went to another concert of multiple people at Joe's Pub where we saw 4 artists. In order Blind singer/songwriter Raul Midon, whos blends of rock/soul/funk and extraordinary 'voice trumpet'; Abigail Washburn an amazing artist who plays the banjo and often sings in mandarin; Slam Poet Rives who can make you see his story in amazing detail; and finally Thomas Dolby (you remember him from 'you blinded me with science' but he is still doing a ton of amazing stuff. All the artists we saw were great!! At Joe's Pub we were up so close to the stage, it was just wonderful fun!!
