New York in Spring - Part Three
06/14/05 - travel, people watching, macro

And Yet again we are back to the NYC pictures! Day 4: Saturday was a blast!! Ryan, having spent the night on a roll away and not wanting to wake us tried to sneak out but we caught up with him and had breakfast before he headed back to CT. I think Kev and I went back to bed after that. When we did get up it was still drizzly and dreary, but do you think that stopped us. Out we went into the misty day with camera in hand and the umbrella store, Rain or Shine on the agenda. After several hours (yes I mean hours) of umbrella shopping, and a number of wonderful purchases later we headed to Centeral park for some more photography. It was a day of perfect lighting and some great finds. After a while I was starving and insisted on a detour to Grey's Papaya!! That is a damn good hot dog!! In the evening we saw The Producers and I got a surprise. Going through the program during intermission I discovered that I knew one of the actors, from back when I worked at North Shore Music Theatre. Madaline had been doing Les Miserables for something like 10 years (minus short breaks for outside shows which is how I met her) and now she was doing The Producers. So I stopped backstage after the show and we got to take a look around and Kevin got to pull a Broadway curtain. It was a wonderful day!
